How I Can Help You

Psychologist Anywhere Anytime

I provide concrete solutions, specific behaviors and techniques, and explicit guidance and support to help you in your quest to explore and change any aspect of your life where you believe there is a need for improvement.

For those clients who request my professional help I use a combination of therapeutic, counseling and coaching approaches including Reality Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt and Rational Emotive Therapy, traditional psychotherapy and several other approaches. My approach with you will ultimately depend on your personality, your learning style, the nature of your problem and on your level of motivation to change.

How I Can Help

I recognize that admitting to a problem and reaching out and asking for professional help can be difficult and requires strength and courage.  I also recognize that as a prospective client you may have questions about working with me.   In the hope of easing some of your concerns, on this website I have tried to address many of these questions as well as other possible areas of concern.

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT
FROM OTHER PSYCHOLOGISTS AND THERAPISTS?

I have a lifetime of experience working as a professional helping people from all walks of life, with all types of problems, and from all over the world.  I understand that there are times in our lives when we need help now, not later, at a place where we feel comfortable, without waiting, without spending a lot of time filling out forms, where there is no set time limit on how long or short we talk.  With that in mind I offer services to meet your life style and situation.

Help is available when you need it

Sometimes you need help now and do not want to wait a week or two for an appointment. I am available to help you when you need it most.  Just pick up the phone and give me a call.  Since I carefully limit the number of clients in my practice, I am usually available to personally take your call immediately or call you within an hour and, if needed, see you the same day.  I can come to you, you can come to my office or we can talk on the phone.

There is no traditional waiting room

I understand that you may feel some awkwardness or embarrassment about seeking help and that you may not like the stress of sitting in a room with other people while waiting for your appointment.  With this in mind, for those clients who come to me, I do not schedule appointments one right after another like many other mental health professionals.  I schedule appointments far enough apart that you will not be kept waiting and, since there is no overlap with other clients, there will not be other clients around when you arrive or leave.

Help is provided where you are most comfortable

I believe it is helpful for therapy to take place where you are most comfortable talking and listening.  If this is my office, great.  But if you feel uncomfortable sitting in my office, I can meet with you at your home, place of business, a park or wherever you are most comfortable.

There need not be a set time period

I understand that when you are talking about emotional situations and events in your life, it feels terrible to have the therapist say, “our time is up” or to feel you have to keep talking because you still have 15 minutes left in your session.  With this in mind, I can meet with you with no arbitrary time limit.  Your session can be as short or as long as you need it to be. In general, sessions are based on a true 60 minute hour and not the 40-50 minutes that are typically used by mental health professionals.

I am available by phone or cam

There may be times when you are not able, or do not want, to travel to my office and that you also do not want me to come to your home or office.  With that in mind, I am available to help you by phone or cam.

I can be available after normal working hours

Often we can manage to suppress our emotions all day long and manage to cope.  However, sometimes late at night, when we no longer have the distractions of our daily activities, everything can come flooding back in.  This is the time when many clients need help the most.  It is also the time when traditional forms of help are least available to you.  With this in mind, I try to be available to my clients whenever they need help.

I provide help to individuals, couples, groups and families

I work with individuals, couples, and even whole families.  I can come to you or you can come to me.

Home appointments

If you have a problem that keeps you from coming to my office, I can come to your home, place of business, hospital, health care facility, or wherever else I am needed.

All contacts are confidential

Be assured that all contacts are kept strictly confidential. When you call, if I do not answer, you can leave your name and phone number with complete peace of mind that your privacy and confidentiality will be carefully protected.  When we talk, I will listen with patience, sensitivity and compassion, and without being judgmental. The initial phone contact, for which there is no fee, will cost you nothing but a few minutes of your time to see if my unique, personally targeted approach will meet your needs.

Contacting Me

As a Ph.D. psychologist, psychotherapist, counselor and life and executive coach, I frequently assure my new clients that they can't have a problem I haven't already seen. I have extensive experience working with an extremely wide range of clients and in all types of situations.

I am able to understand and appreciate the demands of a wide variety of unique life-styles. I recognize and truly understand that who you are, what you do, and how you adapt, all form a set of extremely unique parameters. No two people or situations are alike and I personalize and individualize all of my services and programs. I also understand the critical nature of the relationship we will develop as I assist you in acquiring new skills and techniques to change your life and increase your level of satisfaction.

Accordingly, the number of my active clients is carefully limited so that I can maintain the availability and flexibility needed to meet your requirements, whatever those might be. I am "on call" and can be available to my clients 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.  I am available by pager and phone, and am just a quick flight away from wherever you or I may be in the world. I am available on an hourly or retainer basis. I can meet you at a time and place that is most convenient to you. There need be no barriers of time and space to hinder your progress.

You have the right and ability to enjoy your journey through life in your own individual way and to be as comfortable and productive both personally and professionally as possible. These goals are within your reach. There is no reason for you to settle for anything less.

If you would like me to help you accomplish these goals, please call.  Outside of being with my family, there is nothing more satisfying to me than to help others achieve the happiness, peace of mind and level of productivity they want and deserve.  I welcome the opportunity to use my expertise, experience and wisdom to improve your life.

Feel free to contact me. Once you become an existing client, you will be given a  pager  number where you can reach me whenever you need.
